The Project

Our break into the US market as web developers came about thanks to the opportunity we were given to work on this exciting website build and web development project.

Working in collaboration with a digital agency based out of Arizona USA, they approached our company with a vision to revamp the online presence for COMMON workspace, one of their clients, and create a web experience to enhance their brand image and improve user engagement.

The Design

After receiving the initial Adobe XD design from the creative team, we started the web development project by reviewing and understanding the design. We carefully examined the layout, visual elements, typography, colours, and interactive components specified in the design, and conducted several online meetings to ensure a clear and comprehensive understanding of their vision.
Once we had a clear understanding of the design, we planned the development process. We outlined the project's scope, goals, and timelines, breaking down the design into smaller sections to make the development process more manageable.

Build & Development

To translate the design into a functional website, we began by converting and developing the navigation from the XD design. The navigation would be fully responsive having two defined states to acommodate all viewports. We structured the navigation using HTML and applied styles and visual elements using SCSS.

The footer was built using the CSS grid system to ensure uniformity across all responsive states, giving us enhanced control over the span and order of elements for the mobile device viewport.

Once the static HTML and SCSS were in place, we moved on to implementing interactivity and functionality. We used a JavaScript framework to handle user interactions and animations, and in particular for the function of the mobile menu system.

We built the COMMON website to provide an excellent user experience on smaller screens, however, the responsive design ensures that the website looks and functions incredibly well across all devices, making it easier for visitors to navigate, read content, and interact with the site.

The Desktop Experience

While a great mobile experience is essential, the desktop version of a website should never be overlooked as it is incredibly important, providing a richer and more immersive browsing experience.
